Press Release by Community First International Ltd – 3rd April 2009

Statement

The announcement made yesterday by the Federal Government regarding the allocation of the new employment services contracts for 2009-2012 has seen Community First International Ltd (CFI), realise one of its strategic business aims to be one of the largest employment services providers in Western Australia. With its Head Office in Mandurah, CFI will now be contracted to deliver a significant proportion of the employment services required across four employment service areas (ESA’s), in Fremantle, Cannington, Maddington, Victoria Park, Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra and all of the Southern regions including Bunbury, Katanning and Albany.

With these new contracts along with other initiatives that it currently has or is about to implement, CFI will shortly increase its staffing levels from approximately 100 staff to around 200 staff.

CFI Chairman John Gillingham thanked the CEO and staff for the passion and commitment they injected in to the preparation of the tenders and said “together we have built this organization into a strong, progressive and sustainable business that is on the doorstep of rapid expansion. As a caring community focused organisation we will not lose sight of our mission, which is to make a positive difference through employment, training and community services to the communities in which we operate.”

Chief Executive Officer Clare Allen said in her announcement to staff “whilst we celebrate momentarily we should also display dignity and respect for fellow colleagues who have not been so fortunate by recent announcements. Success is merely for a moment, it is only when we are serving others that we can permanently succeed as an organisation, as the real secret to success is to constantly perform.”

A high performance culture, and an outstanding team of men and women has enabled CFI to reach this point in its short history. CFI has a strong commitment to sound governance principles and appropriate humility and this will enable the organisation to move into the next employment services contract with enthusiasm and integrity to enable people within communities to “step up to a better life”.
